Ruma Urang is a member of the Land Protection Committee and one of the main leaders in the tea worker movement fighting against the conversion of agricultural land to an economic zone and for improved rights for tea workers. She discusses her family history, her grandfather’s role in Bangladesh Liberation War, how she got involved in the movement, the sacrifices she and other workers made and the role of women in the movement.
